Key Features & Advantages

Oil-Free Compression

The cylinder and packing sections use an oil-free lubrication arrangement, making the compressor suitable for LPG applications where minimizing oil contamination of the compressed gas is important.

Double-Acting Reciprocating Design

The vertical, double-acting piston configuration provides positive-displacement compression and is designed for stable gas transfer and pressure control during continuous industrial operation.

Wide Operating Pressure Range

The compressor supports a suction pressure range of 0.1–1.42 MPa.G and a discharge pressure range of 0.4–1.72 MPa.G, allowing it to be used across different LPG transfer and handling conditions.

Explosion-Proof Drive Motor

The compressor is equipped with a 22 kW YB3-225M-8 explosion-proof motor, specified as ExdIICT4, IP55, with 380 V, 50 Hz electrical characteristics.

Automated PLC Control

The integrated control cabinet supports PLC-based operation, touchscreen monitoring and RS485 communication. The system can provide remote monitoring and control of operating and alarm information.

Comprehensive Protection Functions

The control system includes protection and alarm functions for conditions such as:

  • Motor overload and short circuit
  • Low oil pressure
  • High compressor discharge temperature
  • Low suction pressure
  • High discharge pressure
  • Automatic alarm and shutdown conditions

These functions are intended to support safer and more controlled compressor operation.

Compact Industrial Configuration

With approximate dimensions of 2500 × 1600 × 1700 mm, the compressor provides a structured equipment arrangement for integration into LPG facilities and process systems.

Applications

The ZW-1.46/(1-14.2)-(4-17.2) can be used in a variety of LPG and liquefied gas handling applications, including:

  • LPG loading and unloading
  • LPG tanker truck unloading
  • LPG tank filling systems
  • LPG storage transfer
  • LPG distribution facilities
  • LPG transfer stations
  • Gas storage and pressure management
  • Residual gas recovery
  • Liquefied gas handling systems
  • Chemical and petrochemical plants
  • LPG terminals and gas stations

LPG Loading & Unloading

The compressor can be integrated into LPG loading and unloading systems to facilitate controlled gas transfer between transportation equipment, storage vessels and process systems.

Its positive-displacement compression principle allows the compressor to generate the required pressure differential for controlled movement of LPG between connected equipment.

LPG Storage Transfer

The ZW-1.46 compressor can be incorporated into LPG storage facilities where controlled transfer between storage vessels or process equipment is required.

Its wide suction pressure range makes the unit suitable for different stages of LPG handling, subject to the actual process design.

Residual Gas Recovery

The compressor can also be utilized in systems designed to recover residual LPG or gas remaining in process equipment, pipelines or vessels.

This can help support gas recovery operations and improve overall process utilization.

Control & Monitoring System

The compressor’s automated control cabinet provides an integrated interface for monitoring and controlling the unit.

The stated control configuration includes:

  • Direct-start control
  • Explosion-proof PLC control
  • Touchscreen display
  • RS485 communication interface
  • Remote operation monitoring
  • Alarm information monitoring
  • Motor protection
  • Compressor pressure protection
  • Temperature protection
  • Automatic shutdown functions

The specific control philosophy and communication configuration can be adapted according to the project requirements.

Safety Considerations for LPG Compression

LPG is a flammable and pressurized gas medium, therefore compressor installations require appropriate engineering and safety measures.

Depending on the installation and applicable standards, the complete system should be designed with suitable:

  • Explosion-proof electrical equipment
  • Pressure relief and protection systems
  • Gas-tight piping and connections
  • Gas detection systems
  • Emergency shutdown arrangements
  • Ventilation
  • Grounding and bonding
  • Isolation valves
  • Pressure and temperature monitoring
  • Appropriate LPG-compatible seals and components

The final installation should be engineered according to the gas composition, operating pressure, temperature, hazardous-area classification, applicable regulations and project-specific safety requirements.

Installation & Integration

The ZW-1.46/(1-14.2)-(4-17.2) is specified for fixed, foundation-mounted installation and can be integrated with existing or new LPG process systems.

Typical integration may include:

LPG Storage Tank → Suction Piping → Compressor → Discharge Piping → Transfer / Filling / Process System

The final piping, instrumentation, electrical and control arrangement should be determined according to the project’s process requirements.
