Description
This high-performance compressor is dedicated to handling pure hydrogen media. Key operational parameters include a nominal volumetric flow rate of 3 m³/min, a suction pressure of 0.01 MPa, an inlet temperature of ≤50℃, and a rated discharge pressure of 15 MPa. It is powered by a 55 kW YBX3-315S-8 grade explosion-proof main motor. With an overall dimension of approximately 6000×2700×2100 mm and a weight of ~15000 kg, it strikes a balance between powerful compression performance and practical on-site installation requirements.
Widely used in scenarios like high-pressure hydrogen storage, industrial hydrogenation processes, and fuel cell hydrogen supply systems, this compressor plays a core role in compressing low-pressure hydrogen to 15 MPa for high-pressure cylinder filling, providing stable high-pressure hydrogen sources for industrial reaction processes, and supporting efficient hydrogen delivery in fuel cell supporting facilities. Its flexible design also allows adaptation to custom hydrogen processing needs, serving industries ranging from chemical engineering to new energy.
Features
High Performance and Operational Reliability
The W-3/0.1-150 Hydrogen Compressor features high automation, controlled by a Siemens PLC with a 9-inch touchscreen for real-time monitoring and automatic adjustment, significantly reducing manual intervention and downtime in continuous operations. It adopts a 5-stage compression and multi-stage water-cooling design (with the first to third stages as shell-and-tube coolers and the fourth to fifth stages as coil coolers), ensuring the final gas transmission temperature is ≤50℃ and the exhaust temperature is ≤150℃, maintaining stable medium properties. Critical components like gas valves and rod packing are sourced from Hoerbigger, a well-known international brand, while pressure and temperature transmitters use Rosemount products—greatly enhancing long-term operational reliability.
Low Operational Costs and Convenient Maintenance
The compressor is equipped with a dual sewage discharge system (manual + automatic), where automatic timed sewage discharge can be adjusted based on contamination levels, and manual discharge serves as a backup—reducing the risk of system blockages and lowering maintenance frequency. Vulnerable parts such as piston rings and fillers have a long service life (≥3000 hours), and the crankshaft, piston, and other core components can operate for over 30000–50000 hours, minimizing replacement costs. Additionally, the centralized skid-mounted design of the main unit and auxiliary components (coolers, separators, control cabinet) simplifies on-site inspection and maintenance, saving labor and time costs.
Safety and Advanced Structural Design
Featuring a double intermediate body structure, the compressor prevents oil from migrating from the crankcase to the cylinder, safeguarding medium purity. Cylinders and cylinder heads, made from gray cast iron or forged steel, adopt axial valve arrangement for efficient gas flow. This design, combined with patents such as the piston rod thread protective sleeve (ZL 2017 2 1907021.7) and integrated long-short double compartment (ZL 2018 2 0294762.0), underscores its innovative engineering.
Customization Capabilities
Beyond standard specifications, the compressor offers tailored solutions based on client needs, including flow rate, purity, pressure, operating environment, and specific use cases. It supports various structural forms (D-type, M-type, S-type, etc.), cooling methods (water-cooled, air-cooled, mixed cooling), and installation types (fixed, mobile, skid-mounted, cabin-type), ensuring compatibility with diverse industrial requirements.
Application Area
Hydrogen Compressor Applications
- Hydrogen refueling stations
- Hydrogen storage and boosting
- Chemical and petrochemical processes
- Hydrogen energy projects
In industries such as petrochemical engineering, fine chemical synthesis, and metal surface treatment, many core processes require continuous high-pressure pure hydrogen. For example, in the hydrogenation reaction of chemical intermediates or the hydrogen protection process in high-temperature metal processing, 15MPa high-pressure hydrogen is needed to ensure the full progress of the reaction and the stability of product quality. The W-3/0.1-150 Hydrogen Compressor can compress low-pressure hydrogen (suction pressure 0.01MPa) to 15MPa through five-stage compression. Its first to third stage shell-and-tube coolers and fourth to fifth stage coil coolers control the gas transmission temperature ≤50℃, and the spiral oil-water separator and high-pressure filter further remove impurities, ensuring that the hydrogen purity meets the strict requirements of industrial processes.

Whole Machine Description
The W-3/0.1-150 hydrogen compressor adopts a W-type (multi-cylinder distributed) structure, water-cooled cooling mode, lubricated reciprocating piston type, 3-row 5-stage compression design, and the entire unit is supplied in an integrated skid-mounted manner—facilitating on-site installation and overall transportation.
The compressor crankcase is made of high-strength cast iron, with precision-machined mounting interfaces for 3-row crosshead slides, main bearings, and bearing seats to ensure stable assembly of moving components. The lower cavity of the crankcase serves as a lubricating oil sump, storing L-DAB100/L-DAB150 compressor oil or synthetic oil to provide continuous lubrication for the crankshaft, connecting rods, and other rotating parts. The upper part of the crankcase is equipped with a sealed oil filling (breathing) cover plate to prevent oil leakage and foreign matter intrusion; additionally, it is pre-configured with functional interfaces including an oil drain port, oil level gauge observation window, bearing seat oil injection nozzle, and oil temperature sensor installation port. The crankcase oil drain port is connected to an external pipeline and fitted with a manual ball valve, enabling convenient and rapid drainage of waste lubricating oil during maintenance.
The compressor adopts a single intermediate body structure, with an internal cavity volume designed to be larger than the maximum stroke of the piston. This design effectively blocks the backflow of lubricating oil from the crankcase to the cylinder, avoiding oil contamination of the hydrogen medium. The compressor cylinder is made of high-quality gray cast iron (adapted to the hydrogen working condition), and adopts a lubricated design—matched with a dedicated cylinder oil injection system to deliver lubricating oil to the cylinder wall, ensuring smooth operation of the piston. The cylinder head is made of forged steel (for enhanced pressure resistance), and the gas valves (supplied by Hoerbigger) are arranged in a radial manner on the cylinder head—optimizing gas flow paths and improving the efficiency of intake and exhaust.
